(Berk. & Curt.) Corner Fruit body up to 4cm high, with a short stem and many branches that split dichotomously and have numerous acute tips; pale orangish pink or salmon, drying dingy gray or dull yellow; fertile surface in patches on the stem. Flesh tough. Taste bitter. Spores long ellipsoid, smooth, white, 7-9 x 2.3-4.5µ. Habitat singly or in groups, arising from white mycelial patches on leaves, particularly oak and beech. Found in central and northeastern North America. Season July-September. Not edible.
